McCoshums Are Busy!

Sorry we have been super busy and I dont know how to really use this blogger thing. Chanel you really need to help me!

So we have had a really busy year at least since Sierra started 2nd grade. Not only is she busy with school work so is mommy. Yep I took some time off and know I am getting back into it. I did find out that I have my A.A. in criminal justice so I was really excited to hear that news. I am actually going to get there eventually to my B.A. which should be soon.

I have been very active at Sierra's school on the PTA and the PTA Events Coordinator. My title sounds boring but what I get to do is coordinate all the events at the school, market and plan everything. A love that I have always had for planning special events so it has been the perfect volunteer postition!

I have also started something great that has been missing in the community a Girl Scout Troop! So I volunteered to have my own Brownie troop and I couldnt ask for a better group of girls to teach. They love what we have been doing and I have so many great things to show them. We just got done selling cookies and they sold over 1500 boxes as a first year troop and that is awesome I am so proud of them. The one thing that I did want them to understand is that they can sell cookies and not just parents. So we are doing allot of lessons about public speaking to get them over the shy nerves that most girls have at this age. And they are doing service projects where they have to talk to adults and explain what they are doing and selling. We even went to meet some TV news anchors and our local TV stations.

So Kevin is super busy at work like always but not too busy that he cant spend some time at home. He cant stay away from us very long and Dennis and I usually see him at lunch time or he takes us out. He needs to work on the house but we are waiting for this very important test the house needs so that we can get some cash back to make our house more energy efficient so its going to be worth the wait and then we can get the work done!!! Yeah. I am really proud of him for excelling in his job and he hardly complains anymore about using computers if only he could get people to leave him alone long enough to do his job at work! But hey he is well liked and likes his job what more could you ask for?

And last but not least little Dennis is keeping us on our toes. He is mobile almost walking. He loves to open cabinets so they now have locks. He loves to dance and absolutley loves all kinds of music. He will stop what ever he is doing to dance and listen to music, its really quite funny. He will be "1 YEAR" next Thursday and I am a little sad but happy at the same time cause he is growing up so fast. I have been very blessed to be able to stay home this past year with him and be here for Sierra when she gets home too! So I hope his birthday is memorable as I am sure it will be for all of us at his party. Now I just have to write his birth story down and get it framed so he can always read about his very special day.

There is baby on the brain, and boy are we busy with babies.

My very best friend Jackie and her husband gave birth to a beautiful baby girl this week. Julianna Marie Kaliko Sanchez was born February 3rd at 223pm in Georgia and they couldnt be happier parents. They have waited a very long time for her to arrive. After 19 hours she had a C section delivery but both mom and baby are doing very well. CONGRATS DEIGO AND JACKIE!

Our friend Jessica also had her baby boy Noah on January 28th and have yet to be filled in on that delivery yet.

Our wonderful friends Marc and Chanel are having a baby TOO! And we couldnt be happier although Marc blames us for the baby fever but hey its contagious that is just how it happens. They are expecting this July and we cant wait for Dennis to have another playmate. CONGRATS MARC AND CHANEL!

I will try my best to update everyone on everything a little better now that I have a semi normal schedule again!

Take care and enjoy life where ever you are.

Pray for m brothers safe journey and return from Iraq. I miss you Michael, Yvonne, Austin and Bryce. Love you all.

July 8th, 2008

Ok this blog thing is new to me so bare with me as I tell you about the adventures of the Alaskan McCoshum's!

This year has been a whirl wind one let me tell you. After a long pregnancy and an even longer labor on February 12th, Kevin and I were blessed with Dennis Braydan born at 1121pm after 17 hours of labor. It was such a long day but totally worth the wait.

Today he is almost 5 months old and rolling over, laughing hysterically, smiling and sleeping all night most of the time ~YEAH~ He is such a cute baby I think I will have to post a picture lets see how this works:

Yeah it worked! So here is little Dennis now! We took him to the air show at Elmendorf and let me tell you ear protection is a must. He had these little ear head phones on that my girlfriend Chanel has a picture of I will have to post it later.

Ok so on to what else is happening in out lives. We still have allot of work to get done around the house but the lack of sleep and energy with a new baby has put a damper on those plans. Although we did teach Sierra how to ride her bike without training wheels and all she wants to do is go on a bike ride every eveing so we have been taking Dennis along with us. My mom gave us one of those bike carriages that you pull behind the bike for him and he loves it. Its bright yellow so he stares outside and really doesnt say much else about it.

Kevin is taking us on vacation to Oregon and Idaho this August so for those of you that know us we have a large circle of family and friends in that area and we are going to have a HUGE Alaskan Style feast at Pat's House on August 16th. There will be more details to come, we are still in the planning phase. I am excited we have been on trips but there has always been a motive like a wedding or something going on taking up our time. But this time there is no working, no wedding just family to see and to enjoy ourselves. Sierra is looking forward to seeing the horses and of course the water park in Boise. I am sure she will have a blast considering since we were there last and it was November and there was no snow she has already said she wants to live there because it doesnt snow. And when she gets older she said that she wants to have a farm in Oregon. But you know kids they change their minds like everyday and she is only 7. I wanted to be like 30 things by that age and I didnt do any of them YET! Yes I said yet. It looks as though I will be graduating from college next year if I keep my classes going, and stay focused, its exciting because I will be the first to graduate with a bachelors degree. My brother Mike has his associates but I think that is it.

Kevin is getting busier by the day at work with more responsibility comes more hours but he likes what he does and he is good at it. He will be going on quite of few fishing charters this year and we will be dip netting for salmon the end of July. I am just glad to be getting out of town for awhile.

Oh and I started my own business. "Vantel Pearls in the Oyster"

We actually take Oysters with pearls inside to home parties (the only of its kind) and you pick the pearls and set them into your very own jewelry. Its really fun and I get out of the house and make a little cash too! I am having a great time with themed parties. I have had a chocolate/strawberry and a leopard themed party and it has been allot of fun meeting new people and showing up at parties seeing people I havent seen for years. I am currently booking parties so if you having a wedding shower or a birthday there are tons of different things we can do and brides get a discount on their wedding jewelry.

Well I am about blogged out I am going to post some more pictures for you to see:
